Nuance RealSpeak’s text-to-speech capabilities are incredible. I hope they create “RealSpeak Desktop” where I can feed it arbitrary text and it’ll read it for me, for $50. Killer application.

It’s the pobox.com of telephony–but how are they going to make money? Ridiculously expensive paid subscription service, eventually? Ads? Why commit to using it “for life” unless you know, right?
