Ben:

Yeah, I'm sure Google Maps is adequate for most mapping needs, but as the Curve is still in the "new toy" state for me, so I decided to try the TeleNav service. The spoken prompts are really convenient for actual navigation while driving, of course. If Google Maps implements spoken turn directions on the BlackBerry, for free, then I'll likely ditch the TeleNav service.

I too got my 8310 after almost 10 years on a Palm!

Regarding the GPS services. I don't have TeleNav, but I use Google Maps which finds exactly where I am straight away and then I can use the free services there.

I agree with the IMAP challenges.

No drivers specifically for the Jawbone, no. I have all the necessary drivers installed for my D-Link DBT-120 Bluetooth USB dongle. Doing something similar under Linux may be a little more involved--I haven't tried, yet. In theory, the Bluetooth "headset" profile is a standard, so if you can get any headset paired under Linux, the Jawbone should be no different.

Sweet! No drivers were required?
(Yes, I've checked the site and they say that pairing their headset with PC's is not supported, so I bet that there are no drivers required.... I'm just making sure! :-) )

PS: Thanks a zillion for the information!

Simon: I'm not sure about Linux, but I did successfully pair the Jawbone to my WinXP laptop and use it as a headset for Skype just fine.

OT:
Do you know if the Jawbone would work as a headset for a Linux PC?
