I'm buried alive with work at the moment, but as soon as I climb out from underneath it all, I plan on making a bunch of fixes to Blackbird - I'm sorry that everyone has to wait ... :-(

Having David's problem with the 8320, won't send tweets and get java errors when trying to get friends list, but twitterberry still works. Any suggestions?

Dossy,

Diggin' Blackbird! However, it's not show the right time stamp. For instance, I got one this morning showing the it was sent 275 days ago.

Thanks,

Dossy,

I appreciate your quick response. I tried both the BIS/BES and TCP connections and during this time I was able to still use the other app on my phone.

I've personally never seen the Fail Whale but I've only been using Twitter for a couple of weeks.

I am going to have my friend install this on his Sprint 8330 and see if there may be an issue with the newer Curves or just T-Mobile. I reloaded mine and tried Blackbird again with no success.

Anyway, thank you for your help. I appreciate it a lot.

David: I've personally tested on my own AT&T-branded Curve 8310.

Try going into Options and changing Connection from BIS/BES to TCP. If that doesn't help ... I'm not sure what else to suggest.

Oh, one thing - when Twitter's overloaded (i.e., you get the Fail Whale when accesing it via browser), Blackbird may result in that Java failure, I think. One of my TODO items is to better recognize the various Twitter error responses and report them back to the user ...

I'm not able to get this to work with my T-Mobile Blackberry Curve 8320

It doesn't send the 'tweet' and gives a java failure whenever I attempt to load the friend history. Has this been tested with the Curve or with T-Mobile?

Twitterberry works fine but I was interested in finding something else.

Gordon: Counting up leaves things flexible for using Blackbird with other sites that implement the Twitter API but may have different character limits. Counting down means having to hard-code some specific upper limit value. That's why I chose to have the counter count up--more flexibility.

How about a character countdown instead of a count up, when entering an update.

Cheers,
Gordon

Rob: Thanks for voting for active links in tweets - it's on the TODO list, but now it'll be slightly higher, since you and others have asked for it.
