My wife reminded me this morning that I was actually laid off from my last job the last time it was October, Friday the 13th.
My fondest memories of that place was when I would go outside to smoke, the coffee break conversations would usually start up by someone saying, “This fucking company…”
I actually enjoyed working there because I got to work with real hardcore geeks. Everybody else was either an electrical or mechanical engineer, and I had a lot of fun working with embedded software, microcontrollers and assembler now and then…
Then again, if I wasn’t laid off, I would have had the opportunity to do a lot of web stuff at my current company.
There you go. Even my bad luck turns into good luck.
Luck is highly subjective. Reminds me of the old Chinese farmer story: Good luck, bad luck? Who knows?
